About PDF to Image

There are many reasons to convert a PDF into images. You might need to embed a page in a presentation, share a specific chart or diagram on social media, include a document preview in a website, or extract a page for use in a design tool that does not support PDF import. Converting to PNG gives you a universally compatible image format that works everywhere.

PDF-to-image conversion works by rendering each page at high resolution, producing a crisp PNG that captures all text, graphics, and layout exactly as they appear in the original document. Unlike copying and pasting from a PDF viewer, which often loses formatting, rendering the full page preserves everything — including fonts, colors, and precise positioning.

This feature is currently under development. When complete, it will use PDF.js to render pages directly in your browser, meaning your files will stay private and never be uploaded to a server. The technical challenge is that PDF rendering requires a Web Worker setup to handle the processing without freezing the browser. In the meantime, desktop tools like Inkscape, GIMP, or the built-in print-to-image feature in most PDF viewers can accomplish the same task.

Frequently Asked Questions

How will PDF to image conversion work?

Pages will be exported as PNG images to preserve quality and support transparency.

Why is this feature not available yet?

PDF rendering requires PDF.js with a Web Worker setup. This is more complex than other PDF operations and is currently under development.

Is there an alternative?

For now, you can use the print-to-image feature in most PDF viewers, or try a desktop tool like Inkscape or GIMP to export individual pages.
